TRIO-SSS is more than academic

TRIO-SSS also encourages students involvement in community programs. On April 24, TRIO-SSS students and staff worked in GCU’s Mercy Garden to mark Earth Day. The garden provides food for local food banks and charities. Just days later, TRIO-SSS honored 29 students who are graduating.

Earlier in April, TRIO-SSS organized a fund-raising event to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. They raised funds and set up a collection for crayons and other art supplies for packets that are given to children while in the hospital’s waiting room. In all, the group donated 85 packets to the hospital.
