Georgian Court University Awarded $50,000 by OceanFirst Foundation

Lakewood, N.J., Jan. 21, 2014—Georgian Court University has been awarded $50,000 for student scholarships by the OceanFirst Foundation of Toms River. The grant provided 20 Georgian Court students with $2,500 scholarships for the 2013–2014 academic year.

GCU President Rosemary E. Jeffries, RSM, Ph.D., said the university was especially grateful for the scholarships provided by the OceanFirst Foundation. The awards allow GCU to offer a high-quality college education to promising students—many of whom would not be able to realize their dreams of earning a four-year degree without the generosity of donors like OceanFirst.

OceanFirst Foundation has donated a total of $680,903 to Georgian Court since 1997. Georgian Court University is located on a 156-acre historic campus in Lakewood and offers 31 undergraduate and 10 graduate degree programs. Georgian Court welcomes both men and women to reside on campus, as well as participate in NCAA Division II athletics and other student activities.
