GCU: Ensuring access and opportunities for students with children

University students who have children are valued and supported at Georgian Court, especially through programs like GCU Cares, 1-on-1 counseling and the Newcombe  Scholarship,  social worker Colleen Diveny (right) told legislators in Trenton this morning. Colleen, a case worker in GCU student affairs, addressed Assemblywoman Paula Lampitt, Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande (left) and others on the Assembly’s Women and Children committee. The committee is considering several bills and invited testimony from NJ colleges and universities. GCU shared testimony alongside Rutgers, Jersey City University and Montclair University.

Annual student literary magazine published

Georgian Court University loves to show off its students’ talents, and the annual Fountain Spray, GCU’s annual literary journal, gets the job done. The 2015  collection of student poems, short stories, artistic photos, paintings, and graphic designs was published in April.

The Tradition Continues: GCU Junior Ring Ceremony

When they arrived at Georgian Court a few years ago, they may have had second thoughts, Sister of Mercy Helen Neder said during GCU’s recent Junior Ring Ceremony.

“There were probably says when you had to get from one corner of the campus to the other with only a few minutes to be on time for class. On those days you may have thought, ‘Is this class in the next county?'” Juniors and seniors laughed out loud and nodded their heads.

Fourth Annual GCU Wellness Expo Explores Mind, Body, and Spirit
